What colour curtain and sofa should i get?
I am moving into a house that has light blue wall colour. I was wondering what colour to choose for the curtains and the sofa. Please note the living room is small and the coffee table is mahogany.

You should go with a sort of white look. Make the couch white and get white curtains, and any extras you wanna add in like decor should be white. I really like the whole white look, and plus it won’t clash with the mahogany table and blue walls.Good Luck!:)
You could always change the wall colour, but as it is blue then i suggest either a darker blue or neutral-ish green.
If you have kids you can always get your curtains etc for their rooms from this great site i found, http://www.curtainsforkids.co.uk.
When it comes to decor, I like to take cues from nature. Light blue walls (sky/water) and a dark wood table (drift wood) would be complimented best by a beige sofa (sand) and gauzy curtains in either white or dark blue (and by gauzy I mean sheer like linen). I did something similar in my last appartment – it felt very relaxing and breezy like a day at the beach. Enjoy your new home!
you should try bright white curtains that will look amazing look at this pic:

and go for sofa with a shade of like cream or pale yellow:

and if you like try red it il ne in contrast but look nice have a look:

If you have the choice to paint the walls and if you can afford new furniture. Why not buy the furniture you want and repaint the walls?
If you’re stuck withe the blue walls, and your new home is not permanent, I would go with brown. Brown leather might be nice. It’s classic and if you move again you wouldn’t have any trouble with your furniture not going with the new walls. You could always do the curtains and some accent pillows and accessories in colors that compliment or contrast with blue walls. If you want a bright, splashy, contemporary look go with orange, yellow or red. If you want something more calming pick an olive green, or darker blue than the walls. You could also go neutral with cream or brown.
Get paint chips from the paint store and tape them to your wall. A color that goes well with the wall is bound to jump out at you.
