We have jsut brought a new 2 seater and 1 seater leather sofa. It is quite softish leather and the one armchair which gets sat in the most tends to crease in the ‘bottom-sitting zone’. I keep encouraging my boyfriend to stretch them out after but a) he forgets and b) it just goes back anyway!

PLEASE HELP!

Actually the best way to prevent wrinkles is to buy a sofa made from fat cows. The only problem is when you get up in the middle of the night for a snack, the sofa is blocking the fridge.

  3. BlytheLyssa says:

Moisturizing the leather with leather lotion will help the creases.

This is a natural & normal thing for leather to do. Keeping your leather clean & conditioned will keep leather from cracking, but will not prevent the wrinkles. Trying to stretch them out will not help. Even a thick, firm leather used as upholstery will eventually acquire those creases with use. Truly, the only way to totally avoid creating those creases would be to not use the furniture.

You’re never going to get away from the creasing, but moisturizing it will help it and yeah. they are couches and they are going to get used there’s not much else you can do.
